This particular customer first came to us for an EV charge point installation. Impressed by our professionalism and service, he returned to ask if we could help design a solar PV system for his property. After discussing several options, it became clear that a ground-mounted system would provide the best outcome. Both in terms of energy generation and long-term value.

With a spacious south-facing garden and no shading issues, we were able to maximise system size and performance without compromising the aesthetics of the home. We handled the entire planning process with Cornwall Council on the customer’s behalf, ensuring everything was in place before work began.

The approved system features 20 x 460W DMEGC panels, mounted on a robust SolarPort ground array, paired with a SolaX X1-IES-8kW hybrid inverter and a 15.3kWh battery storage solution. This design ensures the system can capture and store solar energy throughout the day, with free electricity still available into the evening hours.

With a quick turnaround from planning approval to completion, the system is now fully operational. The customer regularly monitors performance via the SolaX app and has already seen encouraging signs of strong generation and battery usage. He’s also signed up for SEG export payments, so any excess energy sent back to the grid will continue to boost his return on investment.Estimated first-year savings: £1,132.00
